Ever the forward thinking company, we thought it was about time to revamp how we work things in the office. In order to improve our project management, we tried out quite a few different online project management solutions. None of the available solutions (Central Desktop, Many Moon etc etc) met our absolute needs so we took it into our own hands to develop our own system. Currently under development, our Flash-based Adobe Air app will allow us to do everything we could ever want to do; make announcements, add tasks, assign tasks, prioritise tasks, sort tasks by team member etc etc. We will even eventually have a shared address book and events calendar!
The main downfall of all the solutions that we tested was the need for each user to have a seperate login. We didnt want to have to login to the website every time we wanted to view our task list. We wanted something quick, easy, accessible and login-free; and the only way to do that was to 'go large'. We now have a lovely new LED flatscreen TV mounted on the office wall for all to see. Hooked up to a high-spec PC, and using Radmin as a remote control viewer, all members of the team can now control the 'Big Screen', which will be especially useful to display work to visiting clients, as well as updating the new project management app.
